Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants make their own food. It takes place in the leaves of plants, mainly in the chloroplasts.

During photosynthesis, plants use sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water to produce glucose and oxygen. Sunlight provides energy, chlorophyll absorbs the light, carbon dioxide comes from the air, and water is absorbed from the soil by roots.

This process is important because it provides food for plants and releases oxygen into the atmosphere, which is necessary for life on Earth.

Photosynthesis helps maintain the balance of gases in nature and supports all living organisms either directly or indirectly.
